Northern Miami Valley, OH – Parts of the region are set to experience isolated showers and storms today, with the possibility of dense fog in the Northern Miami Valley this morning. Visibility could drop to less than a half mile in some areas due to the fog.
While rain and storms are expected to be intermittent, meteorologist Ritz warns that conditions could still be hazardous. “An isolated severe storm with spotty damaging winds is possible, but most storms will likely stay below severe limits,” she said. “Heavy rain and lightning are the main threats with any storms.”
The Storm Prediction Center has placed most of the region under a marginal risk for severe weather, which is a Level 1 of 5 on the scale. This means there’s a slight chance for severe storms, but widespread dangerous weather is unlikely.
Stay Prepared
Residents in the area should be prepared for possible disruptions, including sudden heavy rain and lightning, as isolated storms develop throughout the day. Drivers in areas with dense fog should take extra precautions, as visibility could drop quickly.
