BATON ROUGE, Louisiana — A former LSU football player from Baton Rouge has been detained in connection with a motorbike crash that killed a woman in Plano early Saturday morning.
The Richardson Police Department arrived at the scene around 4:51 a.m. on June 7 in the 2400 block of northbound North Central Expressway (US-75). The motorbike driver, Cody Morris, 27, of Plano, was pronounced dead on the spot. Police stated no more vehicles or people were discovered at the crash location.
Around 5:30 a.m., the Plano Police Department received a call from Kelvin Joseph Jr., 25, an Allen resident and former LSU football player, who claimed he was involved in the crash.
When Richardson authorities contacted Joseph, they discovered he was driving a BMW sedan northbound on US-75 at the time of the crash. According to police, authorities noticed indicators of intoxication when chatting with Joseph and arrested him.
Joseph is accused of driving while intoxicated and causing a collision resulting in personal injury or death.
Joseph attended Scotlandville Magnet High School prior to playing for LSU.
