A 15-year-old kid died and five others were injured in an accident at Campbell Hall’s parking lot on Wednesday afternoon, according to officials.

According to a department spokesperson, the LAPD got a call at 3:10 p.m. about a vehicle-on-pedestrian collision at the Studio City private school.

A green 2025 Rivian SUV struck the youngster as he crossed the parking lot, pinning him against a white SUV, according to the spokeswoman. He was severely injured and transported to a hospital for treatment, where he was later pronounced dead.

According to the Los Angeles Fire Department, two additional youngsters and three adults had non-life-threatening injuries in the crash.

Officials with the LAPD indicated Thursday that the incident would not be investigated as a criminal conduct and will be handled by the traffic division.

Aerial footage recorded by KTLA News helicopters revealed a three-car pileup in the parking lot. The Rivian seemed to bump the white SUV into a black SUV as parents waited in their vehicles to pick up their children from school.

The cause of the crash, as well as the driver’s name, are now unclear.

“My heart is with the entire Campbell Hall community during this tragic time,” L.A. County Supervisor Lindsay Horvath said in a statement on X. “I’m praying for the student in grave condition and all those affected— especially their friends and loved ones.”

The Mayor’s Crisis Response Team was rushed to the school following the incident to provide emotional support and recovery aid to relatives and witnesses, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

Campbell Hall is a private Episcopal K-12 school whose notable alumni include actors Ashley and Mary-Kate Olsen, Dakota and Elle Fanning, and NBA players Jrue, Aaron, and Justin Holiday.

A request for comment was not immediately responded to by school representatives.
